For items listed on other eBay platforms (e.g. eBay.fr or eBay.es), additional fees may apply depending on the destination country.

Currency Conversion Fees
If an item is listed on an international site (e.g. eBay.com), eBay may automatically convert amounts into local currency to:
- collect fees owed by the seller;
- make payments to the seller.
The exchange rate applied is the eBay transaction rate, consisting of:
- base rate: defined by currency markets or official rates;
- conversion fee: percentage added to the base rate.
For sellers with a registered address in Germany, the conversion fee is 3%.
For other countries, please refer to the specific local fee pages.
Fees for Private Sellers Outside the EEA
Private sellers residing outside the EEA are subject to different rules.
Final Value Fee
- 11% on the transaction amount up to €1,990
- 2% on the portion exceeding €1,990
- Fixed fee:
- €0.05 if the total order < €10
- €0.35 if the total order ≥ €10
The total includes item price, handling charges, shipping costs chosen by the buyer, VAT, and any additional charges.
If the item is not sold, no final value fee applies, except when attempting to complete the sale outside eBay. In such cases, the fee will still be charged based on the highest price indicated.
In case of refund or cancellation, you may receive a credit for the fees according to eBay’s rules.
International Fee
If you offer shipping outside Germany, an international fee applies when the delivery address is outside the Eurozone and Sweden.
Specific rates vary by country and can be found on the respective eBay pages (e.g. USA, Canada, Australia, Spain, France, Italy, Ireland, Belgium, Austria, Switzerland, Netherlands, Poland, China, and others).
Other Terms of Use
- Early termination of an auction may also generate costs.
- Listing fees and fees for additional options are non-refundable and apply to each category selected.
- The fees listed here apply only to eBay.de; other eBay sites have their own fee structures.
- Payment of fees does not grant exclusive rights on the platform. eBay reserves the right to display advertisements or third-party listings.
- Fees may be subject to German VAT or other local taxes, depending on the seller’s country.
- In case of cancellation of the sale or refund to the buyer, the seller may be entitled to a fee credit.
Conclusion

Most listings are free within the allotted quota, while additional costs depend on extra options, international sales, and currency conversions. It is essential to understand the applicable rules, especially for those residing outside the EEA, to avoid unexpected expenses and to manage selling activities more effectively.
