Overview
By registering as a business seller on ebay.es, your items become visible to millions of potential buyers worldwide. eBay offers competitive pricing and professional selling tools to help you grow your business and enjoy a positive selling experience. The main costs are divided into:
- Final value fees (percentage on the Total Sale Amount + 0.35 EUR per order).
- Regulatory compliance fee (0.35% of the Total Sale Amount).
- International fee (if delivery is outside the Eurozone or Sweden, with registered address in Spain).
- Listing (insertion) fees (Fixed Price / Auction) and listing upgrade options (some free, others paid).
- Currency conversion fee (for selling/listing on eBay sites in other countries, with currency conversions).

Fee and commission structure
When you sell on eBay, two major groups of costs apply:
- At listing creation
- Insertion fees (Fixed Price / Auction)
- Upgrade option fees (e.g., subtitle)
- At the sale of the item
- Final value fee (percentage + 0.35 EUR per order)
- Regulatory compliance fee (0.35% of the Total Sale Amount)
- International fee (if applicable)

Final value fees
When the item is sold, a final value fee applies. You do not incur third-party processing fees: the entire flow is managed by eBay.
Base calculation (most categories):
- 9% on the portion of the Total Sale Amount (TSA) up to 990 EUR (per item)
- 2% on the portion of TSA exceeding 990 EUR
- + 0.35 EUR per order
Total Sale Amount (TSA): what the buyer paid, including handling costs, shipping, VAT, and other applicable taxes.
Order: one or more items purchased by the same buyer, in the same checkout, with the same shipping method.
eBay fees are automatically deducted from proceeds; the net amount is paid to your bank account.

Additional information on final value fees
- If the item does not sell, normally the final value fee does not apply. However, if you share or request contact details to complete the transaction outside eBay, a fee will be charged based on the highest of: fixed price, auction start price, “Buy It Now” price, or agreed price.
- Sellers with “Below Standard” performance level on the 20th of the month: the next month’s final value fee increases by 6 percentage points (example: 9% + 0.35 EUR → 15% + 0.35 EUR). “Above Standard” or “Top Rated” levels do not incur this increase.
- “Item not as described” cases: if on the 20th of the month the seller shows “very high” rates compared to similar sellers (based on the Service Metrics dashboard), an additional +4 p.p. applies to the standard fee in the affected categories/sites for the entire month.
Exemptions: if the category has fewer than 10 such requests or the rate is <1%, the increase does not apply. This +4 p.p. is not subject to category caps and applies to the entire price (shipping included).
Regulatory compliance fee
At the sale of the item, a 0.35% fee applies, calculated on the Total Sale Amount (item price, handling costs, shipping, and taxes).
International fee
If the registered address is in Spain and the delivery address provided by the buyer is outside the Eurozone or Sweden, the following international fee applies, calculated on TSA and automatically deducted from your payout.

Listing (insertion) fees
At creation of the listing, an insertion fee applies (non-refundable, even if the item does not sell). With an eBay Shop you get:
- a monthly quota of free listings,
- discounts on additional listings.
Fees renew monthly for Good ‘Til Cancelled listings and upon each relist if you have exhausted your free quota.

Currency conversion fee for sellers
eBay S.à r.l. applies a conversion fee when:
- you list or sell on an eBay site in another country,
- and funds must be converted to charge you costs or pay out your proceeds.
Example: registered in Spain, listing on ebay.com. eBay converts EUR→USD to charge insertion/upgrades at creation; at sale, converts USD→EUR for payout.
How the exchange rate is calculated:
- eBay uses a Transaction exchange rate = base rate (wholesale FX market of the day or previous/official) + conversion fee (fixed percentage retained by eBay).
- If your registered address is in Spain, the conversion fee is 3%.

Other terms and conditions
- In case of a buyer refund or order cancellation, you may be entitled to a credit of fees/charges (see “Fee and commission refunds”).
- Fees do not include VAT.
- Complementary services (e.g., purchasing/printing shipping labels on eBay) incur additional costs, shown on the monthly tax invoice.
- Fees may apply if you end an auction early.
- Insertion fees and upgrades apply to all listings when they are listed or relisted, are non-refundable, and are based on the terms in effect at the time of listing/renewal. If you select multiple categories, fees apply to each category.
- The fees indicated here apply to eBay.es. If you sell on another site (e.g., ebay.com, ebay.it), the fees of that site apply.
- In case of failed payments or overdue balances, eBay may limit or suspend services.
- A listing may not appear immediately in results: up to 24 hours latency; listing durations are not guaranteed.
- Paying fees does not grant exclusive rights on eBay pages. eBay may show third-party or other sellers’ ads on any page without sellers’ consent/payment.
