Fees -> Ebay -> eBay ES

Private Sellers ES

This page clearly and structurally explains all commissions and fees for private sellers on ebay.es: listing, selling, regulatory compliance, international fees, Cars & Motorcycles categories, and conditions for the Basic eBay Shop.

Overview

Selling your items on ebay.es is simple, safe, and free. Each month you are assigned a quota of free listings; you only pay commissions and transaction fees when the item is sold (final value fee, regulatory compliance fee, and, if applicable, international fee) and for any optional upgrades you choose to add to your listings. Some categories (e.g., Cars & Motorcycles) and eBay Shops follow specific fee rules.

Summary of commissions and fees

Below is a summary applicable to most private sellers on ebay.es.

At the time of listing creation

ItemDetails
Insertion feeFree up to 150 listings/month
Listing upgrade feesApplied only if you select an upgrade. See the upgrade table.

At the time of sale (transaction fees)

ItemDetails
Final value fee11.5% on the total sale amount + 0.35 EUR per order
Regulatory compliance fee0.42% of the total sale amount

Other fees may apply depending on the item, price, and options chosen at the time of listing creation.

Final value fee

When the item is sold, eBay applies a fee calculated as a percentage of the total sale amount plus a fixed fee per order. You do not pay third-party payment processing fees.

  • Variable fee structure
    • 11.5% on the portion of the total amount up to 2,000 EUR
    • 2% on the portion of the total amount over 2,000 EUR
  • Fixed fee per order
    • 0.05 EUR if the total order amount is less than 10.00 EUR
    • 0.35 EUR in all other cases

Total sale amount: the amount paid by the buyer, including handling charges, shipping service, VAT, and other applicable taxes.

Order: one or more items purchased by the same buyer in the same checkout and with the same shipping method.

If the item does not sell, you normally do not pay the final value fee. However, if you provide or request contact information for the purpose of buying/selling outside of eBay, eBay may charge the final value fee for having put you in touch with the buyer. In that case, the fee is calculated on the highest value among: fixed price, auction starting price, Buy It Now price, or price agreed between buyer and seller.

Regulatory compliance fee

When the item is sold, a fee equal to 0.42% of the total sale amount applies (including item price, handling charges, shipping service, and applicable taxes).

International fee

If your registered address is in Spain, an international fee applies when the delivery address provided by the buyer is outside the Eurozone or Sweden.

The fee is calculated on the total sale amount (including handling charges, shipping service chosen by the buyer, VAT, and applicable taxes/fees) and is automatically deducted from the sales proceeds.

Insertion fees

Each month you can create up to 150 free listings (or more if you have an eBay Shop). Once the quota is used up, additional listings cost 0.35 EUR each. Different fees apply to the Cars & Motorcycles category (see dedicated section). For quotas and prices with a Basic Shop, see the dedicated section below.

  • Insertion fees are charged once only, at the time of listing creation, unless you choose to relist the item manually.
  • Auctions automatically relisted via the automatic relist option and monthly renewals of Good ‘Til Cancelled listings do not generate additional insertion fees and do not count against your monthly free listings quota.

There are selling limits that may prevent you from using the full free quota. Learn more about how free listings work, including conditions and exclusions.

Fees for eBay Basic Shops

If you list many items, an eBay Shop can save you money. Below are the details for the Basic Shop subscription (final value fee, compliance fee, and upgrade fees follow the structure described above).

ItemDetails
Monthly subscription19.95 EUR
Free listings/month (Auction or Fixed price)250
Insertion fee after quota0.35 EUR (Auction) — 0.15 EUR (Fixed price)

The Basic Shop subscription includes access to Selling Manager and Selling Manager Pro.

All fees indicated here include VAT applicable in Spain. For sellers not resident in Spain, VAT rates may vary. Fees will be shown on the monthly invoice.

eBay fees are automatically deducted from sales proceeds; the net amount is then credited to your bank account.

Currency conversion fee for sellers

eBay S.à r.l. charges a fee for using payment services when a currency conversion is required.

If you create a listing or sell on an eBay site in another country, your funds may be converted into a different currency in order to:

  • charge amounts due to eBay (e.g., insertion or upgrade fees), and/or
  • pay you your net proceeds.

Transaction exchange rate: consists of a base rate plus a conversion fee (a fixed percentage on the base rate retained by eBay). The base rate reflects the wholesale FX market rates on the day of conversion (or the previous business day). If rates are regulated by law, the base rate reflects official references.

If your registered address is in Spain, the conversion fee charged and retained by eBay is 3%. If you are not resident in Spain, check the commissions and fees page for your country or region.

Other terms and conditions

  • In case of a refund to the buyer or order cancellation, you may be entitled to a fee credit according to the Fee credits policy.
  • Fees may be charged if you end an auction early (more info).
  • Insertion and upgrade fees apply to all listings and are charged at the time of listing or manual relisting. These fees are non-refundable. Amounts are based on the terms in effect when the listing is published or renewed. If you select more than one category, insertion and upgrade fees apply to each category.
  • If the payment method fails or the account has overdue amounts, eBay may limit or suspend the services provided.
  • Unless otherwise specified, the fees listed here apply only to ebay.es. If you list on other eBay sites (e.g., ebay.com or ebay.it), different fees may apply.
  • Paying fees does not grant exclusive rights to any eBay page. eBay may, at its sole discretion and without consent or compensation to sellers, display third-party ads (including links and references) and other sellers’ listings on any page.
