Overview

When you are registered on eBay as a professional seller, your items are visible to millions of potential buyers worldwide. eBay applies a transparent fee structure and offers professional tools to help you grow your business and maintain a positive selling experience.

Types of Fees on eBay for Professional Sellers

eBay applies two main categories of costs:

1. Costs at the time of listing creation

   • Insertion fees (listing)
   • Optional listing upgrade fees (if selected)

2. Transaction costs when the item is sold

   • Final value fee
   • Regulatory operating fees
   • International transaction costs (if applicable)

Reference amounts

• Total sale amount: the sum paid by the buyer, including item price, shipping, delivery service selected by the buyer, VAT, and other applicable taxes/charges.
• Order: when the same buyer purchases one or more items in the same checkout using the same delivery method.
• Automatic deduction: eBay’s fees and costs are automatically deducted from the proceeds; the net amount is paid to your bank account.

Final Value Fee

The final value fee applies only when the item is sold and consists of:

• a variable portion (percentage of the total sale amount), plus
• a fixed portion of 0.35 EUR per order.

Final Value Fee Discounts

• Sellers registered on eBay.fr who achieve Top Rated Seller status can benefit from a 10% discount on the variable portion of the final value fee* for listings that meet all of the following criteria:
  • Free domestic shipping
  • Returns minimum 30 days
  • Handling time 0–1 day
  • Tracked shipping for items valued ≥ 25 EUR

Additional Information on the Final Value Fee

• If the item is not sold, you generally do not pay the final value fee. However, if you share contact details or request them from the buyer to close the transaction outside of eBay, eBay may charge the fee for having connected you with the buyer. In this case, the fee is calculated as a percentage of the highest value among: fixed price, auction starting price, Buy It Now, reserve price, or agreed price between the parties.
• If your seller performance level is Below Standard on the 20th of the month, the final value fee will be increased by 6 percentage points for sales in the following calendar month.

Regulatory Operating Fees

When an item is sold, a fee of 0.35% is applied to the total sale amount (item price, shipping, delivery service selected, taxes, and other applicable charges).

International Transaction Costs

If your account address is in France, and the buyer’s shipping address is outside the Eurozone or Sweden, the following fees apply (calculated on the total sale amount and automatically deducted from proceeds):

Insertion Fees (Listing Fees)

When you create a listing, an insertion fee applies. The fee is non-refundable, even if the item does not sell.

• If you have an eBay Store, you get monthly free listing allowances and discounts on additional listings (see section “eBay Store Fees”).
• Good ‘Til Cancelled listings incur a monthly insertion fee and each time you relist an item (if you have used up your free allowance).

Fees without an eBay Store

eBay Store Fees

An eBay Store helps you reach buyers more effectively, manage orders, and grow your business. Transaction fees and listing option costs are the same as for sellers without a Store.

Currency Conversion Fees for Sellers

These fees are charged by eBay SARL as part of payment services.

When you list or sell on an international eBay site, eBay may convert funds into another currency to:

• collect due amounts (e.g., insertion/option fees), or
• send you the payouts.

How it works (example):

• Account address in France, listing on eBay.com: eBay converts EUR → USD at the transaction exchange rate on the listing date to charge fees; upon sale, proceeds are converted USD → EUR at the transaction exchange rate at the time of sale.

Transaction exchange rate

• Includes a base rate (wholesale market rates or official reference rates if required by law) + a conversion fee retained by eBay (fixed percentage).
• If the account address is in France, the conversion fee retained by eBay is 3%.
• If the account address is not in France, check the fee page of your Country/Region.

Other General Conditions

• In case of buyer refund or order cancellation, you may receive fee credits according to the fee credit policy.
• All costs are indicated excluding VAT.
• Additional services (e.g., purchase/print shipping labels on eBay) involve separate charges, shown on the monthly tax invoice.
• Costs may apply if you end an Auction listing early.
• Insertion fees and option fees apply to each listing; they are charged at publication or relisting, non-refundable, and calculated based on the conditions in effect at that time. If you select multiple categories, insertion and option fees apply per category.
• The fees on this page apply to listings on ebay.fr. If you list on another eBay site (e.g., eBay.com, eBay.it), that site’s local fees apply.
• If the payment method fails or the account has outstanding balances, eBay may limit or suspend services.
• A listing may not appear immediately in search results (up to 24 hours); eBay does not guarantee exact exposure times.
• Selling fees do not grant you exclusive rights on eBay pages: eBay may display third-party ads and other sellers’ listings on any page.
