Overview

Selling on eBay as a professional seller allows you to reach millions of potential buyers worldwide, with advanced tools and competitive prices. The applied fees are divided into:

• Listing fees (including any optional selling features) at the time of publishing.
• Transaction fees at the time of sale (Final value fee, regulatory fee, and, if applicable, international fee).

Note:
All indicated fees are excluding VAT.

Final Value Fees

When the item is sold, eBay charges a Final value fee calculated as a percentage of the total sale amount + EUR 0.35 per order.

Key Definitions

• Total sale amount: item price + packaging + shipping service costs + VAT + any applicable taxes/fees.
• Order: number of items purchased by the same buyer, with a single payment process and the same shipping method.

Final Value Fee Discounts

Sellers registered on eBay.it with Top Rated status get −10% on the variable portion of the Final value fee for listings that meet all the following criteria:

• Free shipping within the country
• Minimum 30-day return
• Handling time 0–1 business day
• Tracked shipping for items valued at ≥ EUR 25

Additional Information on Final Value Fee

• If the item is not sold, generally the Final value fee is not charged. Exception: if you provide/mention contact details or request contact from the buyer to complete the transaction outside eBay, a Final value fee is charged on the highest of: fixed price, auction starting price, Buy It Now price, reserve price, or agreed price.
• Sellers with a “Very High” rate of Item not as described requests (assessed on the 20th of the month) are subject to a +4% surcharge on the Final value fee for sales in the following calendar month (applied to the total price, including shipping). If requests are fewer than 10 or less than 1% during the assessment period, the surcharge does not apply.
• Sellers with a Below Standard performance level on the 20th of the month incur a +6 percentage points increase on the Final value fee for the following month (e.g.: 11% + EUR 0.35 → 17% + EUR 0.35). Not applicable to Above Standard or Top Rated sellers.

Regulatory Fee

When an item is sold, a regulatory fee of 0.35% of the total sale amount (item price, packaging, shipping service costs, applicable taxes) applies.

International Fee

If your registered address is in Italy, an international fee applies when the buyer’s delivery address is outside the Eurozone or in Sweden, according to the table:

Listing Fees

Listing fees apply when creating a listing and are non-refundable even if the item does not sell. With an eBay Store you get a monthly quota of free listings and discounts on additional listings (see “eBay Store Fees” section).

Listing fees are charged:

• Monthly for Good ’Til Cancelled listings.
• On each relisting if the monthly free quota is exhausted.

eBay Store Fees

An eBay Store helps reach new buyers, manage orders, and grow your business. Transaction fees and optional selling features are the same as for sellers without a Store.

Currency Conversion Cost for Sellers

Charged by eBay S.à r.l. in connection with payment services.
When creating listings or selling on international eBay sites, eBay may convert funds into another currency to:

• collect amounts owed to eBay (e.g., fees), and/or
• credit incoming payments.

Conversion occurs at the eBay transaction exchange rate (base wholesale market rates on the day of or the day before conversion, or regulatory reference rates) + a fixed conversion cost retained by eBay.

• If your registered address is in Italy, the conversion cost applied and retained by eBay is 3%.
• If your registered address is not in Italy, check your country/region’s fees page (link below).

Example (address in Italy, listing on eBay.com): for fees due in USD, eBay converts EUR→USD at listing time; upon sale, proceeds are converted USD→EUR at the applicable transaction date rate.
